Does PRUK supply materials when conducting minor repairs?
Yes - materials are extra and price will be given beforehand. Most clients use labour only service, but we are happy to fetch particular parts for you if needed. We add a mark-up to parts we supply to reflect the fact that we have to go out and select and find the right materials.

Do your handymen come with all the right tools?
Yes! All our handymen carry a full range of tools to tackle a huge number of different jobs. They also carry a wide selection of small parts (screws, nails, wall plugs, plumbing connections and so forth).

Do you do free estimates?
Generally, we can give you a good idea over the telephone of how long a job is likely to take. You can then book someone in, and when they arrive they will confirm or revise the estimate based on what they find at the job. If it is clearly going to take a lot longer than expected, and you decide not to go ahead, we won't charge you anything. If you are happy to go ahead then our handyman will do the job there and then. For larger jobs, like decorating a bedroom, we would usually make a separate visit first to give you an estimate.

Are you insured?
Two million pounds of public liability insurance.

How quickly can you come out?
We offer a 24 hour call-assistance service – The majority of the work is booked in advance. We can often schedule jobs in the day they are booked, though, so it is worth calling to check availability.

Do you have Gas Safe registered engineers?
Yes.  We employ handymen who do a wide range of jobs.  We do subcontract work to registered gas engineers – contact us for the rates involving gas work and always ensure you use a reputable gas safe registered engineer to conduct installation of gas appliances!

Will I have to wait in all day for your handyman to show up?
No - we give specific one hour slots in which we aim to arrive. We will call you in advance to confirm our arrival time.

How big a job can you take on?
The jobs we do generally range from 30 minutes to a day. We also do serve clients by providing larger jobs lasting several days or weeks, (e.g. taking care of a long 'snagging' list for a customer has just had builders in or plastering/rewiring an entire house).

What areas do you cover?
We operate in the Huddersfield area, but have been known to carry out various jobs in other areas. Contact us with your request for more information. 

How can I pay?
We accept cash, paypal or cheque. An invoice/receipt is provided for all work completed – beware of imitations or cowboys!

Can you provide this service for offices/companies/estate agents or property firms?
Many companies have a great relationship with us to take care of their everyday maintenance needs. There is no formal account-opening procedure, simply call  01484 545545    and we will take care of the rest. All invoices are paid as agreed upon completion of job.
